Wheeling Gateway Project seeks more public input on design

The Wheeling Gateway Project team is inviting the public to help shape the design of a new multimillion-dollar tourism center that will showcase Wheeling’s history through an immersive, people-focused museum experience. A public input session will be held on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre. Officials are aiming for high community participation, building on over 4,200 prior responses. While the site appears inactive, work is progressing behind the scenes. Project bidding is planned for fall 2025, with construction expected to begin in early 2026.
